Jason Reid

Pastor

Jason began as pastor at Kallam Grove in August of 2023.  Having grown up in the community, he has deep roots and ties to the folks in this corner of Rockingham County. 

Jason is married to Kendra and they have two sons Jeremiah and Simon. He attended NCSU for a BS in Chemical Engineering but felt a calling to ministry and so went on to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary for a Master of Divinity.  After seminary, he and his family spent a number of years on the foreign mission field serving in Asia.

Taylor Schmidt

Music Director/pianist

A musician since the age of six, Taylor’s performance experiences as a flutist, pianist, and vocalist have included Bel Canto Company, Musica Anima, Richmond Symphony Chorus, The North Carolina Middle Easter Music Ensemble, Winterbirds (a progressive folk band), and Kallam Grove Christian Church.

Taylor has been the Music Director at Kallam Grove since 2017. She holds a Master of Music degree in Music Education from the University of North Carolina — Greensboro and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education  from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Outside of Kallam Grove, Taylor teaches piano lessons in Oak Ridge and Summerfield and teaches general music lessons to students from Title I schools in the Alamance-Burlington area.

Darla Dunagan

Lay Leader

Darla is a fourth generation Kallam Grove member having become a member at the age of 13. She is a life-long resident of the community, and now resides across the road from the house her grandparents built in 1951.

She grew up attending Sunday School and fondly remembers her teachers beginning with her mom in the nursery, and others who continue to serve leadership roles at Kallam Grove.

After attending NCSU, Darla taught middle school math at Rockingham and Guilford County Middle Schools for a combined 30 years before retiring at the end of the 2020 year. She has a son, Jared, a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Jake, and a granddaughter, Vivian Rose.

Currently, she enjoys playing an active role at Kallam Grove, substitute  teaching in Rockingham and Guilford counties, playing cards, reading, cooking, and walking her yorkie, Lily Potter.
